Windsor, Colorado 

The Town of Windsor is a rapidly developing unique community located in the center of the Central Northern Colorado (NoCo) Tri-Cities (Ft. Collins, Loveland and Greeley) high growth area. Windsor is an exciting place where people want to experience the joys of designing and fulfilling their dreams for a community rich in quality and spirit. 

Windsor is situated between the mountains and the plains, where open sky meets towering peaks. It is a place rich in history pre-dating the town’s incorporation in 1890. A world-renowned archaeological site, the Kaplan-Hoover Buffalo Kill Site, is located along Windsor’s towering bluffs giving testament to a native presence as early as 835 B.C. The later presence of native peoples is scantily documented and early settlers make little or no reference to interactions with native tribes. 


Parks, Recreation, and Cultural Facilities
The Town of Windsor offers a comprehensive park, recreation, cultural and trails program. The 47,000 square foot Community Recreation Center offers a wide variety of programs and activities for all ages; rental and banquet facilities with catering for every occassion; and meeting rooms/conference spaces for small and large groups. A full size gymnasium is also part of the facility. 

Other community facilities include neighborhood and community parks with ball fields, shelters and playgrounds; Chimney Park Pool (outdoor pool); historic Town of Windsor Museums at Boardwalk Park; cultural exhibits; Windsor lake for boating, paddleboats, fishing, swimming, and wildelife watching; over 40 miles of trail including the Poudre River Trail and Windsor Lake Trail for hiking and biking; 330 acres of parks (developed and undeveloped) and over 75 acres of Town managed open space. Conservation easements and two State Wildlife areas add over 400 more acres of public open space. 

Transportation
Windsor is located between Denver, CO, 60 miles to the south and Cheyenne, WY, 50 miles to the north. The distance between Windsor and Denver International Airport (DIA), the major airport hub is 60 miles. Major Highways include I-25 (N/S), CO SH392 (E/W), and CO SH257 (N/S).
